BUSY BEE IN A BLUR

This week has been a blur. So many things have happened this week, good and bad, but all in a blur. I have been catching up with friends, had my final oral examination of my second semester at uni, worked and helped adding the final touches to my parents and uncle's restaurant, worked, started a new volunteer job, bought pretty striped and dotted blouses etc. Those were the pros. Now to the cons... everything has happened so fast, I forgot to bask, it is almost as if I have an indistinct memory of this week and the week has not even come to an end, yet! lol.

DRIVES ALL THE GIRLS CRAZY

As mentioned, I love reading stories about her. I just read about Yasmin Sewell. She is known for her signature hair-cut "that drives all the girls crazy." Count me as one of those girls! My hair has grown out, the tips are death, and not even my Paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo can work wonders on it anymore. I have this tradition, that by the end of June I fix my bangs, cut my hair to shoulder length, but I am considering just fixing my bangs and tips - perhaps colour the tips a vibrant colour in contrast to my dark brown hair. Or I can say au revoir to my tradition and get a Yasmin cut, no?

And look out for my Her Story section.

HER STORY

I love history, and I love stories about her. Urban Outfitters has a feature on their blog called, About a Girl, and look forward to a similar feature on my blog called, Her Story. Every now and then you will be able to read about different girls from different corners of the world.

ZOOEY

Beautiful Zooey Deschanel on glamour, researching vintage finds, and patent-leather shoes.

1) I love getting dressed up and shopping, but I don't follow trends. My style fluctuates: it's whimsical and feminine. When I was little, I was a really girly girl who didn't like to wear trousers. I just wore party dresses all the time with patent-leather shoes.

2) At school the kids wore hippy dresses from thrift stores, and people made their own clothes. I've always enjoyed wearing old-fashioned clothes. I try to do a bit of research before I travel so I know where to uncover vintage finds.

3) Know what suits you. Now I understand proportion and recognise the shapes that look good on my figure. I try to stick to classic pieces. I don't go to a lot of fashion shows or pay attention to what other people are wearing.

4) The red-carpet thing of premieres and parties is probably my least favourite part of my job. I do this because I love to act. All that other stuff may be glamorous, but glamour, by definition, is all just a circus.

5) You don't have to wear expensive clothes to look good. Growing up in Hollywood meant there were a lot of film stars' kids at my school – but no conspicuous wealth. It wasn't cool to show off that you had money.
